Long Long Ago

This is the piece I am working on for my recital in January.

This is my third year taking violin lessons. I like my teacher very much.

Hey Diddle Diddle

Today I had to memorize a poem. It was easy, see:

Outside Things

I typed what my mother wrote down.

The weather has been nice, so we spent time outside.

Today we found:

  • a cicada – an insect
  • 5 dead   moles – mammals
  • a velvet ant – an insect that is really a ground wasp. It can sting, has six legs, but no wings.

We also looked at a snail in the grass. He is a mollusk and a gastropod which means stomach foot.

I Found a Cicada

Cicada1Cicada2Cicada3I found this cicada by my dad’s wheel.

Cicadas are insects.

Insects have six legs and three  part bodies.

They wear their skeletons on the outside. This is called an exoskeleton. It protects them.

Baby cicadas live underground.  When they come out they leave their shells.  We found a shell on the house, by a big spider web.  The spider was really big, nearly gigantic!

I drew a picture of the cicada, but not the spider, it would scare me.

Shapes and Patterns

I  am typing   what  my mom helped  me write.
